Mint in box-complete, perhaps some age wear, but unplayed with, $175 to $300. Mint-excellent condition non boxed in all original clothes $60 to $150. Played with, very good condition in partial original clothes $25 to $75. Played with, well loved, no original clothes $10 to $40.

In hindsight, Chatty Cathy might have been a bit creepy. A "Twilight Zone" episode called "Living Doll," was essentially based on Cathy, except that this doll was named Talky Tina — and Tina was even voiced by the original Chatty Cathy, June Foray. Perhaps this creepiness led to Cathy's discontinuation in 1966.

The doll and its accompanying accessories were advertised at less than $20. In 1961, the red Chatty Cathy dress was discontinued, replaced by a pink and white striped dress with a white pinafore called "Pink Peppermint Stick", which was available until 1964.

Chatty Cathy -The doll said 11 phrases when she came on the market in 1960 such as "I love you" or "Please take me with you". Seven more phrases such as, "Let's play School" or "May I have a cookie" were added to the doll's repertoire in 1963 for a total of 18 phrases.
